Teen Fiction New Releases

Infinity RingOther than The Conquest of Night 🙂 which is being released second part of August, 2012, new releases include The Rise of Nine by Pittacus Lore, Michael Vey 2: Rise of the Elgen and Airel (young adult paranormal romance).

The Kill Order by James Dashner is the Maze Runner Prequel coming out August 14, 2012.

This takes place before Thomas entered the Maze or before WICKED as sun flares hit the earth and mankind falls to disease. Mark and Trina survived the sun flares but fight off a disease of rage and lunacy racing across the eastern U.S.   In this new, devastated world, every life has a price. And to some, you’re worth more dead than alive. The book is for ages 12+ and is 336 pages long.

James Dashner lives in the Rocky Mountains and enjoys skiing in the winter as well as, surprise, reading.

2012 Young Adult Fiction Boom

2012 boom in young adult fiction novels brings all ages to the Young Adult book category. Sales of this type of book more than double in five years.

The Hunger Games teen fiction bookIn the first five months of this year more  than 2.4 million books in the category were sold compared to 981,000 in 2006,  according to figures compiled by Neilsen BookScan.

And it is not just children – industry  experts estimate more than a third of teen fiction books are actually bought by  adults.”\

Moira Young’s Dustland,Blood Red Road, as well as Veronica Roth’s Divergent and Insurgent  books and Gone by Michael Grant are among the more popular books in this genre.

Top young adult fiction books incolude The Hunger Games, Inheritance, Breaking Dawn, Divergent,  New Moon, The Maze Runner, Witch and Wizard, The Power of Six, Delirium and The Perks of Being a Wallflower. A new 2012 novel by author Justin James is being released summer of 2012 called The Conquest of Night and should be a great read as well 🙂

It is clear that the popularity of young adult books are on the rise.
